Puente Office Staff

Lenika Rivas

SoCal Program Assistant

As a first-generation, low-income student, Lenika attended Brown University and earned a B.S. in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. She also spent time in Washington D.C. as an intern for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and as a Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America Policy Corps Fellow where she worked with the Education Counsel in D.C. exploring federal progress on higher education policy. Before joining Puente, Lenika was with the Office of Student Affairs at Columbia University and the Brown University Office of Sustainability. Lenika's general interests lie at the intersection of environmental justice, higher education equity, and holistic wellness practices. Outside of work, Lenika enjoys spending lots of time with her family, engaging with mindfulness practices, hiking and exploring gardens, and learning about radical theory frameworks.
