Lupe Carvajal Dannels is a compassionate equity leader in service to student and faculty liberating empowerment. As a consultant for Puente, Lupe holds space for creation that initiates and sustains program expansion through special projects and professional development. Leading team collaboration and training facilitation, Lupe addresses needs that help faculty and staff provide student-centered promising practices anchored in Puente's pedagogy of Cariño and Equity Framework. Lupe comes to this position with 20+ years of experience as a community college counselor, instructor and Puente Co-Coordinator, and program development facilitator and provider. With a focus on student success, Lupe has led development and training Puente practices, Guided Pathways implementation, Basic Skills and Foster Youth Learning Communities as well as career development with structurally unemployed adults and first-generation college students. Lupe earned her master's in counseling from California State University, Fresno after completing a BA in Psychology from University of California, Riverside.
