Melinda Martinez

High School Teacher Training Coordinator

Melinda Martinez (she/hers/ella) is an abolitionist leader of instruction, committed to the work of supporting first generation students and communities. In her role as the Puente Statewide Instructional Leader of English and Ethnic Studies, Melinda works with educational practitioners from multiple school districts across the state. Melinda’s commitment to social justice, student voice, joy, and community cultural wealth is at the center of her work. She brings compassion, innovation, and holistic research-based teaching practices as a coach, mentor, curriculum designer, and professional development lead. Her languages include English and Spanglish.
